Well, let's start by saying that if anything, you are not reading an article your friend, classmate or colleague wrote. This is an article written by a car dealer, that doesn't like the car business to be conducted in gray areas. As a matter of fact, introduce by saying that there is no such thing as beating the dealer, rather there is something called not losing at the dealership. The thing that you should keep n mind is that the dealer owner, and the salespeople have a family to feed, and depend on selling cars as their source of income.

Needless to mention, just like any other industry in the world, greedy drive for profit, drives human beings to stretch. Some prefer to spend extra effort, and time, and other simply prefer to take shortcuts. Well, in the car industry there is dealers with low moral standards, are willing to engage in non ethical practices.

My apologies for this long introduction, however, my sensitivity to this topic lead me to doing so. First of all, put yourself in the shoes of any sales person, no matter what they sell, or where they sell it, if someone walks in unprepared, in other words unaware of what the product is really worth, then why should they help you save money? Do your homework, check out the local newspaper, the local classifieds, and call the other dealer in your city to find out the fair market price. Once you have done your homework, and walk into the dealership follow the advice to follow.
